41yr old and trying IVF

Dear Dr
Please advise, i have 3 health kids, with the youngest being 16. i tried my first cycle of ivf and it failed because only 2 folicles grew after 8 days. My gynea put me on DHEA for the next 2 mnths before i try again. is this the best advise?
Ps. is there anywhere on this website where i can see a glossary for the abbreviations used on this forum.
Thank you.

Dear Jes
The fact that you produce only 2 follicles would indicate that your ovarian reserves may be depleted or that you are a poor responder. However this does depend on the type of protocol that was used in stimulation and also whether the monitoring was done properly. However should you be a poor respondent or have lowered ovarian reserves. Than unfortunately the use of THEA will not necessarily be of benefit. Despite conflicting reports in the literature there is absolutely no evidence at this time which confirms scientifically that THEA will improve pregnancy rates in cases of poor ovarian reserves. Contrary to this there is however recent research that has been done proving the success of a different product, which we are using at our centre, for further information you are welcome to contact us.
