17 week ultrasound gender

Hi Doc. Just wanting to find out if there is possibly anything that one can do to enhance the chances of seeing the baby''s gender at a 17 week ultrasound like having a full bladder, full tummy or empty etc... and how accurate would the ultrasound be? Are doctors generally quite accurate about these things at this stage or is it still very unclear? Thank you for your time.

Nothing you can really do, it depends on the baby's position. Sometimes it is very clear, sometimes not. Your doctor should tell you if he/ she is certain or doubtful.
Best wishes

Hi Leanne,it depends on the baby''s position at the time of the Scan..from 16 weeks Dr''s can see the gender and they are 99% accurate. To increase the chances to see the gender have a chocolate and coke 30mins before ur appointment and the baby will be all hy-active opening legs and doing all sorts of exercises(LOL)
