I don't agree with the articles and would recommend that adult women use an energy intake of 1500 kcal a day which equals approx. 6300 kJ. If you eat a low-fat yoghurt which has an energy content of 150 kJ this equals 35,7 kcal. One kcal = approx. 4.2 kJ. Too low an energy intake can be counterproductive because the body may perceive this as 'starvation' and start conserving energy instead of using it up.
