10 year old going through puberty

Hi Doc,

My daughter is 10 and a half, she seems to have raced into puberty in the last few months, getting pubic hair and a horrible amount of pimples. Is it normal for children to go through puberty so young? Also can you tell me what I can do about the pimples? I have her on a good skin care regime, with an innoxa young solutions soap and toner/cleanser, but nothing seems to help, and she is very self conscious.

many thanks

Hallo Sue
This is a normal age to start puberty. See also http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/conditions/a/early_puberty.htm.
Please discuss the acne with your doctor - she may need to use a topical antibiotic lotion on her skin. You can also use Oxy 10 on the pimples to dry it out.
