Dr Wayne May is an executive committee member of the South African Society for the Study of Obesity and Metabolism (SASSOM), Member of the SA Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SEMDSA), Chrysalis Clinic - International Accreditation Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE), Insulin Pump Centre.
Dr May currently works as a fulltime endocrinologist and has been in private practice since 2004. He has a variety of interests including predominantly obesity and diabetes (he runs www.diabeteslife.co.za), but also sees patients with osteoporosis, thyroid disorders, men's health disorders, pituitary and adrenal disorders, polycystic ovaries, and disorders of growth.
As part of the commitment to offering all treatment options related to weight, he also runs a trial center for pharmaceutical drugs which are seeking registration, thereby giving patients access to new drugs. Dr May is also an advisor to multiple pharmaceutical companies for various drugs.
