According to registered dietician Kim Hoffman, dieting does not have to be dreadful. She says that simple lifestyle changes can assist weight loss and minimise the amount of cardboard you have to eat.

She suggests that these rules you have to apply to your lifestyle to make sure that your body is permanently optimised for weight loss and that you're efforts aren't going to waste.

1. Eat regularly
There is a common misconception that dieters have to skip meals and eat far less than those who aren't watching their weight. Eating regularly is actually important when wanting to lose weight because it'll keep your blood sugar levels constant which will make sure your cravings are busted and maintain a good metabolism.

2. Start early
It is vital that your body gets its first dose of energy within an hour of getting up and definitely before any morning exercise. If you do not eat at this point your body will need to make its own energy, which it will take from either muscle or fat. Muscle is generally the choice if your blood sugar levels are very low.
