This spring it isn’t just chronic hay fever sufferers who need to be wary of allergies. This year’s pollen season looks likely to be one of the worst on record, and even those who don’t normally struggle with seasonal allergies may find themselves with runny noses and itchy eyes.
Why? A wet, wet winter. Such a lot of rain means very healthy plants which in turn means a lot of pollen in the air once the sun comes out. Aerobiologists predict that pollen levels will peak around October before tapering off in December.
