Two sides to a story

0

A doctor accused of professional misconduct has been dismissed from Johannesburg's South Rand hospital, the Gauteng health department said on Wednesday. Apparently he refused to come out and help a patient while he was on night duty. But there are two sides to every story.

If he were just a lazy so-and-so who couldn't be bothered to help another sick person, then he deserves to be punished. But he might have been severely overworked, stressed out, working in an under-resourced hospital and just simply no longer able to cope with the demands of the job. We should always wait to hear both sides of any story before we pass judgement. That goes for kids, spouses, partners, colleagues; well anyone, actually.
