Hug for heart health

Shutterstock
We all love hugs. They are great for comforting and also to convey our care for the other person. But hugs can do so much for your heart too.

Take action:

University of North Carolina researchers have found that hugging someone for 20 seconds can lower blood pressure and reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol. High levels of cortisol have been linked to heart disease and other conditions such as diabetes.

Are you touch-deprived?
