Your body naturally slows down as you age, often accompanied by the age-related aches, pains and illnesses. But regular exercise may help you with faster recovery from illness, reduced risk of chronic disease and better management of existing medical problems such as osteoarthritis.

You can build exercise into your daily routine just by walking to the shops or bus, spending time in the garden or offering to walk a neighbour’s dog to the park. But always check with your doctor before embarking on any form of exercise.
