Halt those hiccups

Having the hiccups? Hiccups can be triggered by anything from spicy foods to stress, but they can also start for no reason at all. What can one do to stop it?

Take action:


Try holding your breath, while drinking a glass of cold water or eating a teaspoon of sugar. Also try holding a paper bag to your mouth and breathing in and out for a few minutes. While it is rare for hiccups to last more than a few minutes, if yours continue for more than a few days, you should see a doctor.
