You're constantly plagued by food cravings for anything from chocolates to cheeseburgers – so much so that you've gained some weight. The good news is that by eating the right type of carbohydrate foods you could cut the cravings.
Carbohydrates boost levels of brain serotonin – a neurotransmitter that's been linked to food cravings.
Take action:
Make sure you eat enough carbohydrate foods – in the range of six servings per day. Just make sure you don't eat carbs that contain additional fat or which are excessively high in energy.
This means that you should steer clear of chocolates, cakes, pastries, chips etc. and rather go for carbs with a high-fibre content, such as high-fibre bran cereals, fruit and starchy vegetables such as sweet potatoes, butternut and carrots.
