Who doesn’t want to be happy? Nobody, that’s who. But we can’t all just wake up full of grins and jolliness, life just isn’t that easy. Boo hoo.
In our eternal search for a sunshine state of mind we’ll try anything, exercising more, eating better, yoga, you name it, but have you tried making somebody else happy?
New research supports the idea that one of the best ways to make yourself happy is to help out somebody else. Focusing on teenagers, the study showed that tasks that involved giving money to strangers resulted in a surge of positive activity in brain structures linked to depression.

It doesn’t have to be something big, maybe give food to a homeless person or offer your hubby a back rub.
So, next time you’re a little down. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and feel sorry for somebody else instead, it might be just what you need.
