By this time of the year you’ve probably been told by at least 400 companies, publications and rude mother-in-laws that you need to get in shape for summer. You’ve rolled out of your cocoon of blankets, squeezed into your spandex and hit the gym.

Well done, just don’t do too much.

Overtraining is not just real, it’s surprisingly easy to do, especially if you haven’t exercised in some time. You could do yourself some serious injuries in the short term and take a huge toll on your body (even shorten your lifespan) in the long run. Plus, going too hard too soon could totally put you off the gym and sabotage your makeover before it’s barely begun.
