Are you a diabetic? Then it's essential to take care of your feet.
Foot ulcers appear on the feet of a significant percentage of diabetics.
Luckily, there are many things you can do to prevent the ulcers from forming.

Luckily, there are many things you can do to prevent the ulcers from forming.
Take action:
- Check your blood glucose regularly and try to control it as well as you can
- Check your feet daily, using a mirror if necessary
- Wash your feet daily, using warm water and mild soap
- Use moisturising cream daily on the feet, but be careful not to get any cream between the toes
- Use surgical spirits to dry out the area between the toes
- Cut your toenails carefully, straight across and never down into the corners of the nail
- Have hard skin lesions professionally removed by a podiatrist
- Avoid shoes with high heels and/or pointed toes; and don't use a hot water bottle to warm your feet.
