Work can sometimes stress us out. Deadlines, meetings, impossible schedules and never-ending tasks can leave us feeling overwhelmed and overworked.

But there is a helpful solution to the chaos that is our work lives – being mindful and mindful breathing. Rakhi Beekrum, counselling psychologist, says: "Mindfulness refers to the art of being in the present moment. Because depression is a result of focusing on the past and anxiety is a result of worrying about the future, being in the present can bring peace, as the present moment is all we have at the time. The past can’t be changed, and the future can be influenced by present action."
